John Andrew “Jay” McClurg, 72, of Covington, and Milton, Georgia passed away July 23, 2016. Mr. McClurg was born in Maryville, Tennessee to the late Jack and Marguerite Aiken McClurg. Mr. McClurg served in the U.S. Marines as an Air Traffic Controller during the Vietnam era. He retired from the FAA as an Air Traffic Controller, and retired as the Director of Marketing with Primerica and Citi Corp. Jay will always be remembered as a loving husband, dad, poppy, and a true friend to all.

Jay is survived by his loving wife of 21 years Lucy McClurg of Covington and Milton, Georgia; daughters and son-in-law Angel and Jon Kusch of Conyers, Crystal McClurg of Atlanta; son and daughter-in-law Damon and Carla McClurg of Milton, Georgia; grandchildren Summer, Marc, Patrick and Shaun; sisters Jackie Brown of Marietta, Sandra Melson of Kingston, Tennessee, Debbie Sterling of Maryville, Tennessee;and  several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service was held 1Saturday, July 30, 2016 at Hopewell Associated Reformed Presbyterian Church with Rev. Tanner Cline officiating. The family received friends the morning of the service. A reception followed in the fellowship hall of Hopewell ARP.
