Jewell C. Perkins of Covington, died June 21, 2009, at the age of 87. Ms. Perkins enjoyed dancing, particularly to the Tennessee Waltz. She loved animals, especially dogs, and enjoyed feeding the birds and squirrels. More than anything she loved spending time with her family, especially her great-grandchildren. Ms. Perkins was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Lena Mitchell Brooks; sisters, Lois Tapley, Jackie Hogan; brothers, Charley Jones, Robert Jones. Survivors include her sons, Steven Gresham of Loganville, John Chambers of Jackson, Henry Chambers of Atlanta; 6 grandchildren, one of which was her primary caregiver, S. Cliff Gresham, Jr.; 6 great-grandchildren; brother, Milton James of California; nephew, Ronald Anderson of Conyers. A Graveside Service for Ms. Perkins was held Tuesday, June 23, 2009, 11 AM, at Green Meadow Memorial Gardens, 677 Legion Rd., NE, Conyers, GA 30012, with Pastor Don Hardison officiating.
