Janet H. Jackson of Covington, passed away Sept. 5, 2013, at the age of 77. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and sister-in-law. She was affectionately known as J.J. by her grandchildren and cherished her time spent with them. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hillman Jackson; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Willis Hackett; sister, Rebecca Hackett Dowdy; and her brother, John Hackett. The family of Mrs. Jackson is especially grateful to the loving caregivers at Longleaf Hospice and Right At Home.
Survivors include her daughter, Jana Milton and her fiancé, Monty Dustin; son and daughter-in-law, Wade and Diana Jackson; 4 grandchildren; 1 great-grandson; sisters, Omer Kelly and Marianne Lott; sisters-in-law, Anne J. White and Jo Jackson; brothers, Joseph Hackett, Paul and Debra Hackett; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service for Mrs. Jackson will be held today, Sept. 8, at 2 p.m. at Lawnwood Memorial Park in Covington, with Rob Lanford officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in honor of Mrs. Jackson to a charity of one’s choice.
