James V. White of Covington, passed away May 7, 2012, at the age of 80. He enjoyed talking on CB radios as "Silver Slipper", gardening, fishing for catfish, and watching the Atlanta Braves, John Wayne movies, and wrestling. Mr. White was often heard telling tall-tales, and loved his dog, Weasle. He was preceded in death by his daughters, Rita Faye Hubbard, Brenda White, Dianne White; granddaughter, Kimberly White; and his parents, Thomas and Ola Odesa (Roland) White.
Survivors include his wife, Kathryn White of Covington; daughters and sons-in-law, Mary Jane Anglin, Bonnie and Michael Anglin, all of Covington, Joyce and Bruce Morton of Savannah; Cindy Warren of Covington; sons and daughters-in-law, Lewis and Tonya Webb of Stockbridge, Robert and Debbie Webb of Covington; 18 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Harold White of Social Circle, Ernest White of Gratis, GA; sister, Marie Black of Comer, GA.
Funeral Services for Mr. White will be held Wednesday, May 9, 2012, 2:00 PM, at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with Pastor Tracey Puckett officiating, and interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday, May 8, from 6:00-8:00 PM.
