Mr. James (Jim) Gist Hamilton Jr. of Covington, died Dec. 22. Mr. Hamilton was born Oct. 5, 1929 in Rome.
After graduating from Rome Boys High, he served in the United States Marine Reserves and United States Navy during the Korean War. He is the founder of PCI/Procoaters, Inc., a successful family business that he nurtured for the past 38 years with his family.
He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Lucy Warren Hamilton; son James Gregory Hamilton, wife Jan, grandsons James Brett and Christopher Warren; son John Wesley Hamilton, grandsons Beau Wesley, Adam Tyler, Jonathan Chase; son Glen Denton Hamilton, wife Terri, grandsons Zachary Lee and Nicholas Brandon; brother Dr. Morris L. Hamilton, sister Dr. Francis Elaine Hamilton and several great-grandchildren and many great friends.
He is preceded in death by James Gist Hamilton Sr. and Edna Denton Hamilton.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations in his honor to the charity of choice. A memorial service was held at Starrsville United Methodist Church on Wednesday, Dec. 26.
