Jacqueline Mary Garland of Covington, passed away June 24, 2010, at the age of 73. Mrs. Garland was a Eucharistic Minister, and worked as a Sacristan. She enjoyed sewing and knitting. Mrs. Garland was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who loved her family and church dearly. She was preceded in death by her husband, Salvatore (Sal) Garland, Sr., and parents, John Joseph and Katherine (Driscoll) Vallett. Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Rebecca and Jeff Hinson of Social Circle, Susan and Craig Baxter of Covington; sons and daughters-in-law, R. Michael Garland, Salvatore Garland, Jr., both of Covington, Anthony and Leah Garland of Suwanee, John and Mary Paul Garland of Knightdale, NC; 13 Grandchildren; 3 Great-Grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Kathy and Paul Dailey of Gulf Shores, AL; brother, John Vallett of Macon; loving pet, Jake. The family will receive friends at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 3134 Floyd St., Sunday, June 27, from 5-7 PM. The Rosary Service will begin Sunday at 7:00 PM. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, June 28, at 10:00 AM at St. Augustine Catholic Church with Father Zachary, of the Mother of God, priest-celebrant. The Rite of Committal will take place at New Covington Cemetery, Monday, June 28, following the Mass of Christian Burial.
