Jackie Simmons of Covington, passed away January 18, 2011, at the age of 54. Mr. Simmons enjoyed hunting and fishing; and loved attending gospel singings. Most important to him was his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Carlton and Martha Elizabeth (Johnson) Simmons; brother, David Simmons; and nephew, Shane Simmons.

Survivors include his wife, Wanda (McCart) Simmons of Covington; sons and daughter-in-law, Jackie Simmons, Jr., Charles and Brittany Simmons, all of Covington; sister and brother-in-law, Brenda and Larry Kirkman of Lilburn; brothers and sisters-in-law, Billy and RoseMerry Simmons, Lanier and Gail Simmons, all of Covington, Danny and Marie Simmons of Monticello, Hughie and Kathy Simmons of McDonough; grandchildren, Jada Simmons, Krista Simmons, Kaleb Simmons, Barrett Hunt, CJ Simmons; numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for Mr. Simmons will be held Saturday, January 22, 2011, 2:00 PM, at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 3134 Floyd St., with Pastor Jeff Jacobs and Pastor Ron Compton officiating, and interment following in Sardis Baptist Church Cemetery, in McDonough. The family will receive friends at the funeral home, Friday, January 21, from 5-8 PM.
