Mr. Howard Benjamin Force Sr., 74, of McDonough, passed away March 17 at Emory University Hospital. The son of the late Georgia Faye Fortner and Torrence Washington Force, he was born in Sebring, Fla. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Mr. Force served his country in the U.S. Navy and then graduated from the University of Georgia with a BAA. He was a member of the Atlanta Primitive Baptist Church where he served as treasurer and deacon. He retired from the federal government as an IRS agent after 38 years of service. He was an avid golfer and Georgia Bulldog fan.
Surviving are wife Patricia Rabon Force of McDonough; son and daughter-in-law Howard Benjamin Force jr. and wife Patricia Rabon Force of Stockbridge; grandchildren Brandon, Sydney and Taylor Force, all of Stockbridge; sister Carole Duke (Payne) of Cedartown; nieces Mellie (Todd) Justad of Boca Raton, Fla., Kim (John) Layden of San Destin, Fla.
Funeral services will be held today, March 20, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home, McDonough, with Elder Patrick McCoy and Elder Hoyt Simms officiating. Interment will follow at Haisten/Eastlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
