Helen “Sis” (Tart) Devir age 80 of Covington died Monday, September 14, 2009. She was born December 31, 1928 in Goshen (Orange County), NY to the late John Joseph and Evelyn Anita (Hindrelet) Henry. She was a retired nursing coordinator from the FDR VA Hospital in Montrose, NY. Mrs. Devir was a loving, dedicated and giving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She is survived by her sons and daughters-in law: William and Barbara Tart of Lexington, SC, Glenn and Carolyn Tart of West Columbia, SC; daughters and sons-in-law: Mary and Stephen O’Reilly of Walden, NY, Jacqueline and Raymond Boyer of Lexington, SC, Cathy Jo “JoJo” and Alan Danny Jones of Covington, GA; sister: Marge Holeman of Coldinghan, NY; 17 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and many loving friends in the New York area. The funeral service for Mrs. Devir will be at 10:00AM, Wednesday, September 16, 2009 in the chapel of Wheeler Funeral Home with Pastor Rick Jackson and Pastor Tim Taylor officiating. Interment will be in Southland Memorial Garden, West Columbia, SC.
