Grover C. (Tony) Morton of Covington, passed away August 3, 2010, at the age of 82. He worked as a Clerk for the U.S. Postal Service in Covington for 30 years. Mr. Morton served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He belonged to the American Legion, sang in the choir at Trinity United Methodist Church and led singing for AARP. Mr. Morton is survived by his wife, Joyce Everett Morton of Covington; daughter and son-in-law, Regina and Jimmy Cronan of Covington; grandchildren, Scott and Maree Cronan, Keith Cronan, Angie and Mike Shumate all of Covington; 13 great-grandchildren; sister and brother in law, Betty and Albert Norton of Covington. A Memorial Service for Mr. Morton will be held at 2 P.M., Sunday, August 15 at Trinity United Methodist Church with Rev. Steve Dunton officiating. In lieu of flowers the family requests that contributions be made to Trinity United Methodist Church, 6154 Collins Street, NE, Covington, GA 30014.
