Glenda J. Brooks Dobbs

Mrs. Glenda J. Brooks Dobbs, 69, of Covington, passed away Aug. 11 at Newton Medical Center. Born in 1943 in Oliver Springs, Tenn., she was the daughter of the late Oscar H. and Mary Louise Brooks and was a homemaker. Mrs. Dobbs enjoyed reading her Bible every day and was a professed Christian.

Mrs. Dobbs is survived by her loving husband of 43 years, James "Ronny" Dobbs; brothers, Max Brooks and wife Margaret, of Covington, and Michael Brooks, of Lula; sister, Judy Pilgrim and husband Jerry, of Conyers; brother, Stanley Brooks and wife Karen, of Social Circle; brother-in-law, Tommy Dobbs, of Newborn; and sister-in law, Betty and husband Stacey Storer, of Douglasville. Mrs. Dobbs is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews whom she raised as her own children. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Dobbs was preceded in death by her brother, Oscar H. Brooks Jr., and nephew, Justin Brooks.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today, August 14, in the chapel of Wheeler Funeral Home, with Pastor Wayne Rutherford officiating. Interment will follow at the Lane Cemetery in Covington.
