Mrs. Geraldine Jolley, 74, of Covington, passed away Nov. 27, after a short battle with liver cancer. Mrs. Jolley had her own cleaning business but also worked as a cashier at Walmart and a deli attendant at Kmart. She loved the Lord and enjoyed fellowshipping and getting to know people. She always wanted to help others and she touched many lives. She was preceded in death by her grandson Sean R. Scherkenbach and her parents Jeff and Violet Rose (Ashworth) Shinault.

Survivors include her husband of 54 years Gayle F. Jolley; daughters and sons-in-law Frankie and Donald Scherkenbach of Newborn, Serena and Michael Rinkbleib of Temecula, Calif.; son Gayle F. Jolley of Geneva, Ala.; grandchildren Serena Scherkenbach, Nathan Scherkenbach, Albert Jolley, Lee Jolley, Britteny Falzon; great-grandchildren Sean Scherkenbach, Bryce Scherkenbach, Abbey Smith, Kailyn Falzon; sisters and brothers-in-law, Jeffie Sue and Warren Hulet of Lansing, Mich.; Violet Rose and Bobbie Cunningham of Ash Flat, Ark.; brother and sister-in-law J.W. and Charlotte Shinault of St. Louis, Mo.

A memorial service for Mrs. Jolley will be held at 2 p.m. tomorrow, Dec. 1, at Gaithers United Methodist Church, 1375 Newton Factory Bridge Road, in Covington, with Pastor Lawrence Lockett officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in honor of Mrs. Jolley to the American Cancer Society, 1684 Barnett Shoals Road, Athens, GA 30605.
