In the spring of 1929, April 22nd, born to the late John and Hattie Johnson was the angelic, Georgia Lee.  As a youngster, Georgia, the seventh (7) child of thirteen (13) was known to be a feisty yet determined individual.  A statuesque lady with a great love for family and friends, Georgia was well known in the community. She opened her home to all who came and were in need of food, shelter, love, and laughter.                 In an effort to assist in providing for the family, Georgia, became a domestic worker at a young age and later worked for various other companies including the Bibb Co. from which she retired.  Georgia met and married the late Johnny Gaither Jr, II later in life.  To this union two beautiful children were added; Essie Wyatt and Johnny Gaither Jr, III.         Georgia, joined Mt. Zion AME church at an early age where she attended regularly until her health began to decline.  Affectionately known to her grands and great grands as Granny Pie, this strong matriarch was blessed to have four generations added to her legacy.         Departing this life on Friday, August 9, 2013, she leaves to continue her legacy, her two children,Ms. Essie Wyatt and Mr. and Mrs. Johnny (Ruth) Gaither, Jr, III; Mr. & Mrs. Dwight (Kimberly) Smith: sister-in-law, Rev. Gloria Banks (Willie Lee) and 13 other grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, 13 great-great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, loving relatives, and friends.  The family would also like to recognize special friends of the family, Carrie Smith, Mr. & Mrs. Miller Flournoy, Julia Kelly, Felicia Williams (nurse), and the Abbey Hospice Staff.
