Mr. Frank Williams died Sept. 1. The son of the late Adam and Mae Williams, he was born in 1946 in Walton County, one of 14 children. He was preceded in death by siblings Adam Williams, Andrew Williams, Mary Louis, Josephine Callahan, Cora Green and Isabelle Williams. Mr. Williams grew up in Newton County, attending the public schools. He joined Early Hope Baptist Church at an early age and sang in the choir. A very hard worker, Mr. Williams worked for Weyerhaeuser in Lithonia for over 30 years, retiring in 2003. Mr. Williams always made himself available to others whenever he could. Outspoken, Mr. Williams was very opinionated and strong willed and was "always right." He loved wearing hats. During his spare time, he enjoyed fishing and talking with his family and friends.
Surviving are his brothers and sisters Betty, Minnie, Charlie, Eva, Edward, Maebell, Robert, Jimmy, Ella Ruth, Jerry, Lewis, Mary Jean, Cathy, Sadie, Laura Ann and Doris; a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, other loving relatives and dear friends.
Funeral services were held Sept. 5 at Early Hope Baptist Church with Pastor Kenneth Williams, Minister Marcello Banes and Minister Ginger Thrasher officiating.
