Mr. Frank “Paw Paw” Gossett, age 84, passed away Saturday, Aug. 12, 2017.  Funeral services for Mr. Gossett will be held at 11 o’clock, Wednesday, Aug. 16, 2017 at the Chapel of J.C. Harwell and Son Funeral Home with Pastor Jason Johnson officiating.  Interment will follow at 3 o’clock at Pine Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, 2479 Highway 92 S, Fayetteville, GA 30215.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Tuesday, August 15, 2017..

Mr. Gossett was born March 28, 1933 in Vaughn to Jefferson Joseph and Jesse Lee Gossett who have preceded him in death.  Frank was a mechanic by trade and worked the last twenty years with Newton County.  “Paw Paw” as he was affectionately known was a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend who will be greatly missed by his family and all of his fellow employees of Newton County.  Frank loved to fish and would often take vacation to go fishing in Florida when the King Mackerel where running.  He also loved to play the lottery and was pretty lucky at it, often winning even scratching off a winning ticket with his daughter Erica while in the hospital following his accident.  Mr. Gossett was Baptist by faith and a member of Countyline Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife; Carol Gossett earlier this year along with his son; Stanley Gossett in 2008 and his grandson, Foster Gossett in 2015.  Mr. Gossett is survived by his children; Connie and Tommy Henson, of Stockbridge, Kyle Gossett, of Covington, Erica Hardeman, of Covington and Kayle and Timothy Hunt, of Covington, his 14 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren along with a host of other family and friends.
