Starr Mrs. Frances Johnson Starr, 89 of Oxford died Sunday September 20, 2009. Mrs. Starr was born in Walton County to the late R.C. and Emma Swords Bowen. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother. She loved working in her yard, growing her own tomatoes, cooking, quilting and watching the Food Network Channel. She was of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Starr was preceeded in death by her husbands, William (Billy) D. Johnson in 1986 and Marshall L. Starr in 2001. She is survived by her daughters and son in law, Frances and Thomas Moon and Nellie R. Hood, all of Oxford, her grandchildren, Randy J. Powell, Ricky W. Powell, Rodney F. Powell, Ronald David Powell, Cindy L. Barton, Donna Faye Pope, Donald L. Hood, Jr., Rita K. Goodman, Pamela Jane Mitcham, 18 great grandchildren and 13 great great grandchildren. Funeral services for Mrs. Starr will be held Tuesday September 22, 2009 at 2:00 pm from the chapel of Harwell-Wheeler Funeral Home with Rev. Todd Heil and Rev. Michael Bowen officiating.
