Frances C. Lovern of Oxford, passed away January 17, 2009, at the age of 98. A member of Allen Memorial United Methodist Church, Mrs. Lovern was also active in the Women Circle and the Manning Bible Sunday School Class. She and her late husband, Mr. John Tinsley Lovern, were married 58 years. During their marriage, they traveled to Japan and Germany, but always called Oxford home. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Fedric Breedlove Coker, and son, Bruce Lovern. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Quinten and Bette Hinesley of Cornelia; daughter and son-in-law, Alice and Paul Hinton of Lawrenceville; grandchildren, Rhett Hinesley Toth, Lamar Hinesley Stevens, Neron Hinton, Abby H. Ryan; great-grandchildren, Allie Wieczorek, Rebekah Wieczorek, Joann Stevens, Max Stevens, Christian Toth, Ava Hinton, Tinsley Hinton, Jack Ryan, Sam Ryan; sisters and brother-in-law, Julia Ridgeway of Bethlehem, Annette and Max Stancil of Jasper; sister-in-law, Judy Sams of Covington; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Funeral services for Mrs. Lovern will be held Monday, January 19, 11:00 AM, at Allen Memorial United Methodist Church, with Rev. Brian Dale officiating, and interment following in Oxford Historical Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 3134 Floyd Street, Sunday, January 18, from 2-4 and 6-8 PM.
