Flossie Haines, 89, of Covington, passed away July 18. Mrs. Haines was a member of First Baptist Church, in Covington and loved spending time in her garden. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend to many. She was preceded in death by her husband Walter Lee Haines, daughter Beverly Lee DuVall, mother Mabel Gertrude (Brooks) Parker, and her father Griffin Smith.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Jim Alexander of Covington; son Walter Richard Haines of Atlanta; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sister, Nina Jo Strauss of West Palm Beach, Fla; several nieces and nephews.

The family will have a private funeral service for Mrs. Haines. She will be interred in Parkhill Cemetery, in Columbus, Ga.
