Evelyn LaPointe, of Covington, passed away March 14, 2017, at 83 years of age. Hobbies that Mrs. LaPointe enjoyed included stained glass, painting, needlework and square dancing. She also found time to go on cruises and travel to the mountains. Mrs. LaPointe loved her family and cherished the time she spent with them. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene S. LaPointe; parents Albert David and Mamie (Bell) Treadwell; brother, Franklin Grover Treadwell; and sister-in-law, Allene Treadwell.
Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Elisa and Edward Peters of Social Circle, Renee and Greg Tipton of Conyers, Adriane LaPointe and Roger Butler, of Maryland, Diane and Charlie Glass, of California; grandchildren, Travis and Jenna Tipton, Drew Tipton, Jesse Tipton, Jessica and Mark Walker, Katherine Peters, Amanda and Rob Evans, Christopher Peters, Samantha and Billy Cook; great-grandson, Lucas Tipton; brother and sister-in-law, David O’Neal and Faye Treadwell, of Moody, Alabama; as well as several nieces and nephews.
A Graveside Service for Mrs. LaPointe will be held Saturday, March 18, 2017, 2:30 p.m., in Lawnwood Memorial Park, 1111 Access Road, in Covington, with Rev. Alice Rogers and Pastor Doug Craver officiating. Friends may visit with the family at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, Covington, on Saturday prior to the service, from 10:30 a.m. – 12 Noon.
