Eva Griffin of Monticello, passed away January 25, 2010, at the age of 83. Mrs. Griffin was a resident of Snellville, GA, for 20 years before moving to Jasper County where she has resided for the last 13 years. She was a retired bus driver with Dekalb County School System, after 22 ½ years of service. Mrs. Griffin was a member of AARP Chapter 2542, in Covington. She loved playing bingo at the Kroger store in Covington, and also enjoyed traveling. She was preceded in death by her son, Robert Freeman; and her first husband, Robert L. Freeman. Survivors include her husband, Jack Griffin of Monticello; brother, Lavern Kerlin of Conyers; 2 granddaughters; several great-grandchildren and cousins; nephew, Anthony Ray (Buddy) Kerlin; step-children, Tammy and Danny Lewis of Monticello, Sammy and Barbara Griffin of Social Circle, Anthony Griffin of Monticello, Jason and Tiffany Griffin of Kennesaw; several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren. Funeral Services for Mrs. Griffin will be held Thursday, January 28, 2010, 1 PM, at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan, 1215 Access Rd., in Covington, with Andy Parker officiating, and interment following in Fairview Memorial Gardens, in Stockbridge. The family will receive friends at the funeral home, Wednesday, January 27, from 3-7 PM. Flowers are accepted, or donations may be made to Abbey Hospice, 215 Azalea Ct., Social Circle, GA 30025.
