Emma Ruth Kelly Kitchens, 103, died Feb. 15 at the Washington Extended Care Facility in Sandersville. Mrs. Kitchens was a lifelong resident of Jasper County. Her parents were the late Willie Champion Kelly and Mildred Inis Cook Kelly. She was a member of Prospect United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Eudora Home Demonstration Club, Senior Citizens, and County Line Women’s Club. She was an avid gardener and homemaker. She was preceded in death by her son Wentzelle Kitchens, daughter Virginia Weems, grandson Mark Harrison, granddaughter-in-law,Lisa Cunard, and great-grandsons Max Cunard and Owen Cunard. Also, two brothers and three sisters preceded her in death.
She is survived by her children Willie Tom Kitchens of Wrightsville, Elizabeth Harrison, Rachel Cunard, and Kay Herndon, all of Monticello; grandchildren Leonard Weems, Ann Rhodes, Steve Harrison, Rex Harrison, Gwen Goins, Rhonda Albright, Kim Kitchens, Lisa Riefesel, Brad Cunard, Brooks Cunard, and Dwayne Herndon; great-grandchildren Becky Bruce, Missy Hewett, Christi Howell, Roger Harrison, Will Hunter, Robin Hunter, Adrienne Albright, Nathaniel Kitchens, Christopher Kitchens, April Harper, Lacey Harper, Case Riefesel, Cole Riefesel, Jeaner Crooms, Sandy Crawford, Fiona Cunard, Trevor Cunard, Miranda Cunard, Evan Cunard, Shane Griffith, James Herndon, and Cadee Herndon; great-great-grandchildren Conner Bruce, Caleb Bruce, Lindsey Bruce, Tyler Hewett, Jake Hewett, Sydney Hewett, Matthew Hewett, Lizzie Howell, and Sophia Hunter; and sister-in-law Mildred Kelly of Monticello.
 Funeral services will be held Friday, Feb. 19, at 11 a.m. at Prospect United Methodist Church, Mansfield. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Dr. Layne Jenkins and Rev. Mike Willard will officiate. Serving as pallbearers will be Steve Harrison, Rex Harrison, Brad Cunard, Brooks Cunard, Roger Harrison, Dwayne Herndon, and Kim Kitchens. The family suggests donations in lieu of flowers to the Prospect United Methodist Church Building Fund, 84 Barnes Mountain Road, Mansfield, Ga. 30055.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.. Thursday, Feb. 18 at Jordan Funeral Home.
