Emily LaRue Hopkins, 70, passed away on June 16, 2016. She is preceded in death by her husband, Donald P. Hopkins, Sr.; her son, Thomas R. Cook, Jr.; her father and mother, Jack and Pansy Dial, and Thomas Reginald Cook, Sr. She is survived by her son, Ronald Cook and his wife, Stephanie Cook; her son, Donald P. Hopkins, Jr. and his wife, Julie Hopkins; her grandson, Joshua Eli Hopkins; and her brothers Morris Dial, Larry Dial and Gene Dial.

LaRue was born in Atlanta and spent most of her adult life living in Covington. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who will truly be missed. A memorial service was held at 1 p.m. on Monday, June 20, 2016, at Lovejoy United Methodist Church in Covington. SouthCare Cremation and Funeral Society is handling the arrangmenets.
