Elizabeth Deaver Murph "Betty" Creech, 79, of the Veazey Community in Greene County, died Friday, Oct. 29, at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born on May 19, 1931 in Spartanburg, S.C. to the late Paul Marion Murph and Elizabeth Deaver Murph of Whitestone, S.C. Betty graduated from Spartanburg High School and attended Limestone College in Gaffney, South Carolina. In 2006 she moved from Covington to the Veazey Community to live with her daughter and husband, Myra and Jeff Cronan. She was a homemaker and a member of Mansfield United Methodist Church in Mansfield. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother and enjoyed spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband William Franklin Creech in December of 2003; she is survived by a daughter, Myra Cronan and husband Jeff of the Veazey Community, three sons, Rusty Creech of Covington, GA, Paul Creech and wife Becky of Cullman, AL and Jerry Creech of Covington; three grandchildren, Matt Creech of Good Hope, Ala, Will Creech of Good Hope, Ala, and Elizabeth Cronan of the Veazey Community; one great grandchild, Abigail Myra Creech of Good Hope, Ala; and a number of other cherished relatives and friends.

Private Graveside Services will be held at a later date at Greenlawn Memorial Cemetery in Spartanburg, South Carolina. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Mansfield United Methodist Church, Hwy 11, Mansfield, GA 30055 or to the charity of your choice. McCommons Funeral Home, 109 W.
