The Rev. Edward Berry deRastrick Hanson, Episcopal priest of the Atlanta Diocese, died Jan. 19 after a courageous struggle with pulmonary fibrosis. Father Hanson attended the Lawrenceville School in New Jersey, graduated from Georgia State University and received a Master of Divinity from The University of the South. His parishes included St. Michael and All Angels, St. Matthews and the Church of the Good Shepherd.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Timberlake Russell, sister Adelaide Berry Hanson, daughter Colleen Berry Horner (Matthew), grandson Nathan Berry Horner, Grace Allstrom, Tyler (Christine), Caitlin and Richard Russell and devoted friends.

The funeral will be at 3 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 23, at St. Alban’s Episcopal Church, Monroe. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Hopsice Atlanta (Park Vista Dr.) or Atlanta Community Food Bank.
