Dorothy Rooks Miller of Covington, passed away November 22, 2009, at the age of 84. Mrs. Miller was a member of Oxford Baptist Church, and enjoyed sewing and reading. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh A. Miller; parents, James Robert and Sarah Swaim Rooks; and brothers, Quinton Rooks, S.G. Rooks, and Finas Rooks. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Deborah and Sammy Patrick of Social Circle; son and daughter-in-law, Mickey and Donna Miller of Covington; grandchildren, Lem and Anita Miller, Mike and Shannon Patrick, Lisa and Todd Bailey, Sarah and Robbie Sharpless; great-grandchildren, Jessa Patrick, Elizabeth Miller; sisters and brother-in-law, Bonnie Brown of Dacula, Inas Holcombe of Monroe, Lorraine and Ellis Patton of Grayson; sister-in-law, Annette Chandler of Covington; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great nieces, and great-great nephews. Funeral Services for Mrs. Miller were held Tuesday, November 24, 2009, 2 PM, at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan, 1215 Access Rd., with interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
