Mrs. John J. “Dorothea” McKeon, age 89, of Covington formerly of Tucson, Arizona passed away April 26, 2014 at Newton Medical Center.  She was born in Queens, New York to the late William and Dorothea Bryant.  Mrs. McKeon was a Registered Nurse and worked as an Oncology Nurse for University Hospital in Tucson for many years.  While in Tucson Mrs. McKeon was an active member of the Order of the Eastern Star.  She loved history and to travel.  Mrs. McKeon enjoyed traveling up and down the east coast visiting many historic sites with her family.  She was of the Episcopal faith and a member of the Church of the Good Shepherd where she was active in the Daughters of the King.  She was preceded in death by her husband Mr. John J. McKeon.

 

Mrs. McKeon is survived by her children; Maureen and Gil Noice of Covington, Georgia and John Terrence “Terry” McKeon of Great Falls, Montana along with her grandchildren Bryant Rayner Noice, Heather Kristine McKeon, Jarrett Brendan Noice and Kathleen Dorothea McKeon.  She is also survived by her great grandchildren Hillary Claire Noice and Lily Dorothea Noice and many nieces, nephews, other family and close friends.

 

A memorial service will be held Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at 11 o’clock at The Church of the Good Shepherd with Father Edwin Beckham officiating.  In lieu of flowers those desiring may make contribution to the building fund of The Church of the Good Shepherd, 4140 Clark Street, Covington, GA 30014.  J.C.
