Mr. D. L. Maddox of Covington passed away on January 15, 2010 at Abbey Hospice in Social Circle at the age of 81. Born to the late Dallas Belmont and Edith Clay Maddox, he was a life long resident of Newton County and former employee of Ginn Motor Co. where he was sales manager for a number of years. He enjoyed drag racing and singing gospel music with the quartet, The Happy Four. Mr. Maddox was a member and former Deacon of Porterdale Baptist Church and a member of Masonic Golden Fleece Lodge #6, receiving his 50 year pin and apron. Mr. Maddox is survived by his loving wife, Geneva Maddox of Covington; daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Randy Digby of Dallas, Ga.; granddaughter and husband, Lori and Daryl Partin; great-granddaughter Jamie Partin; sister and brother-in-law, Lorine and William Plunkett of Covington; brother and sister-in-law, R. A. and Carolyn Maddox of Oxford; several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services for Mr. Maddox will be held on Monday, January 18, 2010, 11:00 A.M. at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan, 1215 Access Road with Rev. Dickie Johnson officiating and interment will follow in Lawnwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home on Sunday, January 17 2010, from 2:00 until 4:00 and 6:00 until 8:00 P.M.
