Dillard Rowe of Oxford, passed away October 2, 2015, at the age of 80. Mr. Rowe graduated from Newton County High School in 1955, and he proudly served in the National Guard. He managed the Strand Theater for six years and was a member of the band Dixie Swingettes. In addition, he was a disc jockey for more than 50 years, working with WMOC, WGFS, WKUN and WMOQ. Mr. Rowe enjoyed working on old radios, collecting comic books and old cameras and loved antique cars. He cherished the time he spent with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Claude Hueston and Ona Lou Rowe; sister, Joyce West; and brother, Freeman Rowe.

Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Keeva and Scott Henderson; grandson, Matthew Henderson; sister, Helen Leavitt; brother, Collier Rowe all of Oxford; as well as several nieces and nephews.

A Graveside Service for Mr. Rowe will be held Monday, October 5, 2015, 2:00 PM, at Lawnwood Memorial Park, 1111 Access Road, in Covington, with Pastor Lenn Hollingsworth and Larry Witcher officiating. The family will receive friends at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, Sunday, October 4, from 2-5 p.m.
