Deacon Nathaniel B. Tyler

In memory of a joyful spirit gone too soon. We pause to give tribute to Deacon Nathaniel B. Tyler with love and affection.
He was born on March 20, 1940, in Monticello, to Mr. and Mrs. Olin (Irene Boykin) Tyler Sr. He graduated from R.L. Cousins High School in 1962. He was an active member in the band where he played the trombone. 

Deacon Tyler joined the Philadelphia Baptist Church at an early age. He became a deacon under the leadership of Pastor Marshal Barnes. Later he moved his membership to Shady Grove Baptist Church of Shady Dale, under the leadership of Rev. Williams. Deacon Tyler retired from Yellow Freight Lines after being employed there for more than 30 years. He was an active member of the Lodge #295 of Mansfield.

He was preceded in death by sister Ms. Everlena Tyler Russell and brother Mr. Olin Tyler Jr.

He leaves to cherish his memory, four daughters Mr. and Mrs. Michael (Mary) Daniel, Mr. and Mrs. Curtis (Denise) Tyler, Mr and Mrs. Terry (Betty) Hyman and Ms. Vivan N. Tyler; 11 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; two sisters Mrs. Florene Tyler Williams and Ms. Irene Tyler; a loving and devoted companion Mrs. Bobby Jean Gaither; along with his children Mr. and Mrs. Artis (Elizabeth) LaGwin, Ms. Betty Gaither, Mr. and Mrs. Curtis (Jackie) England and Mr. Tony Gaither and a host of nieces, nephews, other cousins and friends.
