David Stillerman of Social Circle, GA, passed away January 4, 2012, at the age of 67. Mr. Stillerman was a faithful member of First Presbyterian Church, in Covington, and was active in both his church and his community. Mr. Stillerman was currently serving as an active board member with Habitat for Humanity of Newton County. He enjoyed fishing, traveling, grilling, cooking, and most of all spending time with his family and friends. Mr. Stillerman is loved, and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his father, Dr. Hyman Bernard Stillerman.

 

Survivors include his loving wife, Carol Crosby Stillerman of Social Circle; daughters and son-in-law, Meg and Scott Fender of Decatur, GA, Katy Stillerman of Charlotte, NC;  sons and daughters-in-law, David and Shelli Stillerman of Charlotte, NC, Ed and Jenn Stillerman of Gainesville, GA; grandchildren, Bennett, Adam, Katelynn, Julian, Atticus, Emma, and Lennon; mother, Marguerite Stillerman of Fayetteville, GA; sister and brother-in-law, Jane and Jim Stoakes of Fayetteville, GA; brothers and sisters-in-law, Bill and Kathy Stillerman of Winston-Salem, NC, Jim and Pam Stillerman of Social Circle; and many nieces and nephews.

 

A Memorial Service for Mr. Stillerman will be held Saturday, January 7, 2012, 3:00 PM, at First Presbyterian Church, in Covington, with Dr. William B. Wade, Jr., and Dr. Ann Brightwell McCord officiating. The family will receive friends at the church Friday, January 6, from 7:00-9:00 PM. In addition, the family will receive friends, at the church, from 2:00-3:00 PM, just prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1684 Barnett Shoals Road, Athens, GA 30605; or First Presbyterian Church, 1169 Clark Street SW, Covington, GA 30014.
