David Michael “Mike” Wilson, age 64, of Covington, passed away at his home on August 17, 2016, with his wife, Bonnie, by his side. He was born at Emory University Hospital in Decatur, on February 2, 1952 to Lonnie B. Wilson, Jr. and Grace Felker Wilson Zwerner. He graduated from Avondale High School with a perfect 12-year attendance record. He was employed by Gulf Oil Company, retiring from same.

Mike loved all types of music, most all sports, especially fishing, and “Chevrolet” trucks He could repair mostly anything, the reason some called him “Mr. Fix-it”. He had a great sense of humor and loved to make people laugh with his one-liners. Mike was first married to Debra Davis Wilson and they had two sons, Adam and Jonathan. He later married Bonnie Ranta, giving him two stepdaughters Amy and Stevie; and grandchildren Summer, Lance and Reagan.

Mike is preceded in death by his father Lonnie B. Wilson, Jr., and step-father Herbert H. Zwerner. He is survived by his wife Bonnie and by his mother Grace Zwerner; sons Adam (Alisha) Wilson of Bethlehem, Georgia; Jonathan Wilson of Duluth; granddaughters Ava Grace Ann Wilson and Amelia Rayne Wilson; step-daughters Amy (Brandon) Marlow and Stevie (Justin) Ruffner, both from Jackson; grandchildren Summer Marlow, Lance Marlow and Reagan Ruffner.

The body was cremated and a private memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Heart Association or a charity of choice.
