Charles Weekes Glass, 91, died Tuesday, March 21, 2017 in Tifton. He was born Nov. 2, 1925 in Decatur and lived most of his life in Atlanta and Covington.

He was preceded in death by his devoted wife of 58 years, Madge David Glass and his parents, Dorothy and Clarence Glass. He was a member of Oak Grove United Methodist Church in Decatur and an associate member of Covington First United Methodist Church. He graduated from the University of Georgia in 1948. Charles was a veteran who served honorably in the U.S. Navy and was a Captain in the U.S. Army Reserves. In 1959 he formed Charles W. Glass & Associates, Inc; an automotive aftermarket business that served the southeast U.S. He served as owner and President of his company until his retirement. Charles was a life member of the Atlanta Athletic Club and was an avid golfer. He loved his family, working in his yard and taking trips to New Smyrna Beach, Florida and Highlands, North Carolina.

Survivors include his daughters, Dot Glass Ivie (Steve) of Ashburn, Madge Glass Hendrix of Grayson; son, Charles Weekes Glass, Jr. (Karen) of Gainesville; seven grandchildren, Elizabeth (Thad) Roebke, Jenny (Gabe) Rand, Rebecca (Gene) Hamilton, Tanner (Caroline) Ivie, Kevin, Emily and Katie Glass and six great-grandchildren. He is also survived by one brother, Dan (Ann) Glass of Atlanta and a niece, Donna Bowdoin, of Athens.

 A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday March 26 at Oak Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery in Decatur with a reception to follow.
