Charles (Ricky) Aycox, of Covington, passed away Jan. 20, 2017, at the age of 68. Mr. Aycox was a hard-working family man. He adored his children and considered them to be the love of his life. Mr. Aycox took great delight in coaching his kids on the ballfield, and giving them life advice. He was an avid Tech fan, and also enjoyed watching wrestling with Timothy and Melanie. Preceding him in death were his parents, Edward and Nell (Kenney) Aycox.
Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Sharon Aycox; daughters, Melanie Aycox, Adriane Roop, both of Covington; sons and daughters-in-law, Chris and Melissa Aycox, of Mansfield, Timothy and Kristi Roop, of Covington; grandchildren, Taylor Aycox, Caitlin Aycox, Shakela Bledsoe, Leon Bledsoe, Tipton Roop, Esme Aycox, Hudson Roop, Elyn Aycox; great-granddaughter, Kennedi Short; sister, Linda Hall, of Covington; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services for Mr. Aycox will be held Jan. 23, 2017, 2 p.m., at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with Rev. J. Clifton Brown, officiating and internment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park. Friends may visit with his family at the funeral home, Sunday, January 22, from 6 – 8 p.m.
