C.F. Henderson, of Covington, passed away Nov. 7, 2013, at the age of 91. Mr. Henderson was employed by Firestone Tires in Covington for 17 years, and operated Henderson’s Phillips 66 Station for many years. After selling his gas station, he worked for Almon Construction Co. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church, where his son, the Rev. Harold Ray Henderson, served as pastor. Prior to his membership at Grace, he was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church.

Mr. Henderson enjoyed bluegrass music and played with several country and bluegrass bands, including the Pine Valley Boys. He also loved horses. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Woodie Faye (Garner) Henderson; children, the Rev. Harold Ray Henderson, Peggy Henderson, Wayne Henderson, and Tommy Henderson; his parents, William and Mattie Mae (Hale) Henderson; and his sister, Maggie Mae Hails.

Survivors include his wife, Susie Myrtle Henderson; daughter-in-law, Patricia Henderson, of Oxford; step-children and their spouses, Ann and Jerry Edge also of Oxford, Wayne and Kathy Dimsdale, of Loganville; grandchildren, Kim Henderson, Keith and Paula Henderson, Scott and Keeva Henderson, Brad and Kristi Henderson; sister and brother-in-law, Audrey Owens and Walt Jenkins; step-grandchildren, Justin and Jaclyn Myers, Jason and Ali Geigerman, Richie and Karen Dimsdale, Tessa Dimsdale, Roy and Andrea Bolt, Doug and Carol Speight, Ron and Renee Edge; numerous great-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

A graveside service was held for Mr. Henderson at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 9, at Mt. Zion Baptist Cemetery, in Oxford, with the Rev. Ashley Vaughn officiating.
