Catherine Thorp, of Covington, died Nov. 24, at The A.G. Rhodes Home -- Cobb. The daughter of the late Lewis Sullivan and Maude Nutting Leach, she was born in 1919, in Jacksonville, Fla. She was a devoted member of the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd in Covington and the Covington Woman’s Club. She enjoyed playing bridge and spending time with her family.

Mrs. Thorp is survived by children, Charles S. (Julie) Thorp, of Greensboro, Catherine (Ralph) Knight, of Marietta, Stuart (Kay) Thorp, of Asheville, N.C., and Lewis L. Thorp, of Decatur; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Thorp was preceded in death by her husband, Charles S. Thorp Sr. and daughter, Louisa Sullivan Thorp.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Nov. 30 at The Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd in Covington, with the Rev. Edwin Beckham and the Rev. Ruth T. Healy officiating. The ladies of the church will have a reception from 10–11 a.m., Saturday at the church. Interment will follow at 3 p.m. in Cedar Hill Cemetery, in Cochran, with the Rev. Dr. Charles S. Thorp III officiating.

The family will receive friends at Wheeler Funeral Home from 5–7 p.m. Nov. 29. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd, 4140 Clark St. Covington, Ga. 30014. Guests may sign the online register book at www.wheelerfuneralhome.com.
