Bobby L. Smith Sr., 82, of Covington, passed away Nov. 30.

Mr. Smith worked for White's Department Store for 37 years and Cohen's Department Store for more than 10 years. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend to many. He was loved dearly by his family and friends, and highly respected in the community. He was a member of the Voice of Pentecost where he served as a trustee and Sunday school superintendent. He enjoyed camping, gardening, wood-working and singing. Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his parents Victor and Rose Smith.

Survivors include his loving wife of 62 years, Faye Smith, of Covington; daughter and son-in-law, Rosene and Barry Watts of Covington; 3 sons and daughters-in-law, Bobby Smith, Jr. and Shirley Smith of Monroe, Dennis and Gail Smith of Covington, and Mark and Stephanie Smith of Social Circle; 8 grandchildren, Lisa Watts Meltz, Candace Watts, Brian Smith, Carla Smith Childress, Jason Smith, Brandon Smith, Chad Smith, and Lindsay Smith Gunter; 9 great-grandchildren, Ashleigh Smith, Amber Rachels, Preston Childress, Tyler Smith, Lacy Smith, MaKenna Smith, Caden Gunter, Matthew Smith, and Luke Smith; sister Betty Anne James of Atlanta; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mr. Smith will be held at 2 p.m. tomorrow, Dec. 3, at the Voice of Pentecost, 4648 Salem Road, in Covington, with Pastor Gavin Moon officiating, and interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home today, Dec. 2, from 6 to 8 p.m.
