Mr. Billy L. "Bobby" Golden, 75, of Monticello, passed away Saturday June 23, at St. Joseph's Hospital.
Mr. Golden was born in Atlanta on October 12, 1936 to James Leroy Golden and Addie Bell Robinson Golden.
Bobby Golden attended Heflin High School in Heflin, Ala. He served in the U.S. Air Force and was a veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a truck driver with the H.B. Fuller Company and retired after 30 years. He was a member of the Jasper County Masonic Lodge #50 F&AM, a Shriner and a member of the Conley Cove Sunday School.
He is survived by his wife Marva Watts Golden of Monticello, whom he married on July 5, 1985. Other survivors include three children Rhonda Hawkins and her husband James of Peachtree City, Michael Golden and his wife Kelly of Fayetteville, and Tonya Sanders of Anderson, S.C.; six grandchildren, Joshua and Caitlin Hawkins, Zackery, Matthew, and Joshua Thomas, and Jayden Sanders; sister, Doris Boggess and her husband Bert of Nebo, N.C.; brother, W.L. Golden and his wife Joyce of Panama City, Fla.; and three special nephews, Fred Golden, Woody Rodgers, and Frank Golden. Special extended family includes Leah and Tracy Broadaway, Allison and Michael Yanover and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 7, at 11 a.m. at the Conley Cove Sunday School at Berry's Marina. Rev. Ronnie Williams will officiate.
Mr. Golden will be interred at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton at a later date.
