Beatrice Leachman Moore, 86, of Covington, passed away July 25 at Riverside Healthcare Center. Mrs. Moore loved working in her yard, growing flowers and vegetables. She enjoyed reading her Bible, crocheting and playing the guitar. She attended several Baptist churches in Newton County during her lifetime.

Mrs. Moore was preceded in death by her husband John Moore; daughter Faye Day; parents Banks and Omie (Davis) Gary; sisters Lucy Roberts, Kassie Roberts; brother Henry Van Gary.

Mrs. Moore is survived by daughter Kathy Marr of Oxford; sons and daughters-in-law J.B. and Sherry Leachman of Covington, Johnny and Gereline Leachman of Oxford; 10 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren; sister Louise James of Snellville; as well several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mrs. Moore will be held at 3 p.m. today, July 28, at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 3134 Floyd Street, with Pastor Robert Nash officiating. Interment will follow in Bethabara Baptist Cemetery, 461 Highway 78, Statham, Ga.
