Alma Mae Johnson Carroll of Covington, passed away April 10, 2012, at the age of 83. Mrs. Carroll was a member of High Point Baptist Church, and loved singing in the church choir. She enjoyed fishing, cooking, and vegetable and flower gardening. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother; and wonderful friend to many. Mrs. Carroll was preceded in death by her parents, Lonnie C. and Merle (Roberts) Johnson; sister, Helen J. Baker; step-brother, Donald Johnson.
Survivors include her husband, Leslie "Cleo" Carroll; daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Ken Cannon; son and daughter-in-law, Les and Linda Carroll, all of Covington; 8 grandchildren and their spouses, Mark and Denise Cochran, Misty and Marshall Jordan, Laura and Alex Malone, Kyle Cannon, Timothy and Britney Carroll, Daniel Carroll and fiancé, Michelle Vergo, Philip and Kari Carroll, Emily Carroll; 9 great-grandchildren, Douglas, Brandon and Jacob Cochran, Meagan Mullins and Jack Jordan, Avis, Naomi and Henry Malone, Kiley Carroll; sisters and brothers-in-law, Dorothy and Jack Morgan of Rome, GA, Nelle and Marvin Scarborough of Atlanta, Lusshian Weeks of Moultrie, GA, Louie Baker of Rome, GA; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Ken and Mimi Carroll of Panama City, FL; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Carroll will be held Friday, April 13, 2012, 2:00 PM, at High Point Baptist Church, with Rev. David Marshall officiating, and interment following in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, Covington, Thursday, April 12, from 5:00-8:00 PM. Flowers are accepted, or donations may be made to High Point Baptist Church, 12025 Highway 36, Covington, GA 30014.
