Mrs. Addie Joe Shepherd Williams was born in Oxford, Georgia on November 23, 1944 to the late Deacon Lindsey and Ora Lee Shepherd.

*She attended Bruce Street High School in Lithonia, Ga. where she lived with her cousin, Elizabeth Jackson for several years. She later moved back home to Covington, Ga. where she married the late Mr. George Williams. She then moved to Decatur, Ga. where she made it her home and resided there until her death. She was employed by Emory Hospital in Atlanta, Ga. for over thirty years until she retired.
* Addie Joe joined Bethlehem Baptist Church at an early age; she later attended Antioch Baptist Church until her health started to decline. She enjoyed reading all types of books and watching western movies. She was outgoing, loved and well respected by all her family, friends, and co-workers.

*She was preceded in death by two sisters, Ms. Katherine Shepherd, Mrs. Ora Lee Gilliam and husband, Mr. George Williams.

*She leaves to mourn, two sons, Mr. Daniel Shepherd and Mr. Stewart N. Hurst, two sisters, Ms. Bernice Shepherd and Ms. Sherry Shepherd, three brothers, Dea. Archie (Bobbie) Shepherd, Mr. Samuel (Patricia) Shepherd and Mr. William (Dorothy) Shepherd, two grandchildren, Mr. Daniel M Shepherd, Jr. and Ms. Natasha Shepherd, two great grandchildren, Mr. Joseph Shepherd and Ms. Christina Shepherd and a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
