6. What is the most important issue facing your city?

I believe the most important issue is the lack of participation of our citizens in the town’s activities. We (the group of candidates running for all council seats in Newborn) want participation by everyone in the town.

7. If elected, what are your goals for office?

Our goal is to include the town people in decisions being made. For instance, presently at council meetings, items on the agenda are voted upon without input from the citizens present. They are asked for comments only at the end of the meeting – after all of the items have been voted on!

Clarifying the arrangement between the town and county on the new fire station on Highway 213; including the people’s input on all items on the meeting agendas; bringing back proper sealed bidding on town projects; clarifying the arrangement on the old school house and finalizing the repair of the building.
