Dozens of Newton County’s high school students interested in their futures attended the Aspiring Youth Professionals Dinner held at the Newton College and Career Academy Tuesday night.

The annual dinner, held for Work-Based Learning students, included basic dining etiquette training, where students learned how to network and dine in a business setting and guest speakers.

Eastside High School Principal Jeff Cher was this year’s education speaker; and Andrea Lane, Director of Volunteer Services for Newton Medical Center, served as the business speaker. Jeffrey Johnson, Recruiter for Troy University and 2003 Newton High School graduate, also spoke briefly to students about being their best and succeeding in the world of work.
