A passerby on Hwy. 36 stopped a Newton County Sheriff’s Office deputy saying she was robbed at gunpoint.

According to reports the complainant was dropping off baby items she agreed to sell on social media, when someone came out of the Hunters Trace residence and pulled a gun on her and stole all her money. The suspect and the victim’s friend then returned back inside the residence, and didn’t answer repeated knocks at the door, according to NCSO deputy Felicia Jefferson.

The suspect was leaving the scene when she saw a deputy, and told him what happened. According to Jefferson the deputy attempted to make contact with anyone inside the residence, but met with negative results.

The case is currently being investigated.
