CANTON - Cherokee County officials say a woman who claimed she was being kidnapped has been charged with making a false report of a crime and making false statements.

Sheriff's officers say 44-year-old Lisa Bode of Ball Ground called 911 around 2 p.m. Monday and told dispatchers she had been put in the trunk of a gold car and was heading south on I-575.

Officials say Lisa Bode was booked into the Cherokee County jail, charged with making a false report of a crime and making false statements.

Bode said she was kidnapped after her black Ford Explorer broke down on I-575. Cherokee Sheriff's deputies have found Bode's vehicle. Sheriff's Lt. Jay Baker says officers flooded the area looking for a gold car but were unable to find one.
