ATLANTA - Authorities have released the name of the woman killed by falling debris when a construction crew demolished an abandoned home in Atlanta.
Tami Schroder with the Fulton County Medical Examiner's office said Tuesday the woman was 51-year-old Janice Durham. Schroder said Durham was homeless and had been "for some time" in Atlanta.
Schroder said the death has been ruled as accidental.
Authorities say Durham's body was found Saturday amid the rubble of the house near downtown. Neighbors said they heard her call for help and moan during the demolition.
Contractors told authorities they checked the house before beginning to tear it down, but some neighbors say they didn't see an inspection of the property.
