Deputies called to a home for an assault with a weapon found only an intoxicated woman who wanted a ride.

According to Newton County Sheriff's Office reports, 56-year-old Jannie Newberry called 911 and told dispatchers that a man had shot into her home and assaulted her. When deputies arrived they didn't find a man with a gun, but they found Newberry "extremely intoxicated and under the influence of multiple substances," according to 1st Lt. Mark Mitchell.

Deputies determined that no assault had happened, but that Newberry wanted to leave the home and wanted deputies to give her a ride.

She was charged with false report of a crime.
