The Newton County Sheriff’s Office responded to a complainant residing near Robertson Rd. who said they observed some inappropriate text messages to her 15-year old son from someone known to the family.

According to an NCSO press release, after the initial report was turned over to the Criminal Investigation Division, a thorough investigation was conducted and a disclosure was made during the forensic interview.

A search warrant was then issued for the home of Davis, a 25-year-old Covington resident residing off Scout Road.
“At this time, investigators are only able to determine the inappropriate relationship began less than a month ago,” the press release said.

Davis turned herself in to the Newton County Detention Center Tuesday, and was charged with child molestation, aggravated sodomy and incest.
