A 22-year-old woman was arrested early Wednesday morning and charged with prostitution.

According to Newton County Sheriff’s Office Public Information Officer Corporal Anthony Washington, a deputy was conducting routine patrol in the Riverside Mobile Home Park on Access Road when he noticed a vehicle parked between two homes.

"He thought it was suspicious because of the time of night it was (2:30 a.m.)," said Washington. "The vehicle also had a busted taillight."

The deputy saw two women inside the vehicle and made contact with the driver. After asking the driver several questions the deputy reportedly learned that she had driven to the location in order to drop her passenger off so that she could have sex for money.

The passenger, 22-year-old Lacey Lynne Choate, was questioned next, and according to Washington, gave the deputy several deceitful answers to basic questions, such as her name and date of birth.

Choate eventually provided the correct information, according to Washington, and allegedly told the deputy she had been arrested in the past for prostitution. She also had a warrant for her arrest out of Greene County, Mo.

Choate was arrested and transported to the Newton County Detention Center where she was charged with prostitution and giving a false name to law enforcement.
