A woman called for help late Sunday night after she had been hit in the head with a bat.

The victim told deputies from the Newton County Sheriff's Office that her stepmother, 39-year-old Bernadene Lebert Davis had hit her in the forehead with a baseball bat following a domestic dispute at their home.

Deputies went to the home on Helm Drive and arrested Davis, charging her with Family Violence Act battery.
