The Kiwanis Club of Covington is hosting its annual Christmas season raffle and this year, the winner will get around $1,500 worth of gift certificates from local restaurants.

The 2012 Restaurant Roundup Raffle is new this year, but club members have been soliciting donations from restaurants around the county and so far, around 30 restaurants have agreed to participate.

Raffle tickets are $10 each and can be purchased from any Kiwanis member or from club president Shannon Sneed, who can be reached at (770) 788-0011. His wife Donna can be reached at (770) 241-6939.

The tickets can be purchased up until Wednesday. The drawing will be held Thursday.

The Kiwanis Club is a nonprofit organization that helps children through scholarships.
